How to STOP Wasting so much TIME on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)!

Last year, I spent an average of 5 hours on my phone going through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Not so healthy, right?

So, I decided to go cold turkey and tried to delete the apps from my phone. After 2 days of trying this out, I redownloaded them.

Finally, I decided to create a compromise between my desire for entertainment and my desire for more time in my day.

Here are some tips that I used to cut down my social media usage from 5 hours to less than 2 hours:
Facebook and Twitter Tips:
  1. Install Ublock
  2. Go to Facebook and Twitter
  3. Press the ublock plugin
  4. Press the eyedropper tool and select the feed section on Facebook and Twitter
  5. Then press "Create"
  6. Refresh Facebook and Twitter
  7. And Voila! When you go to Facebook and Twitter, you won't waste your time browsing through your feed. Instead, you'll just focus on the important stuff like messages.
Instagram tips:
  1. I simply disabled my account because I was so addicted to it

Perfect Headlamp for Mowing Lawns, Snowblowing, etc.!

Review of Luxolite's Brightest LED Headlamp Flashlight with Red Led Light - Headlamps Waterproof

This headlamp is awesome! I used this at night and walked around my house. I could see my whole yard with just this light!

Also, there are various modes for this headlamp. There are a culmination of red lights and white lights. More importantly, there was a blinking function included.

So, theoretically, I can see myself wearing this if I wanted to go a night run or night bike ride!

Overall, this is an awesome, light-weight headlamp. Perfect for anyone who goes outside at night!

Flexible Lamp!

Review of BYB Dimmable Clamp Light Rechargeable LED Clip
I've bought clip on flexible lights before for my music stands, when I was playing violin.

When I first tested this clamp light, I was amazed at how much light it gave off! The button on the top was very easy to tap, and allowed me to switch between two options: white light and dim light.

In terms of the flexibility, it was very versatile, I clipped it on my standing desk and my bookstands. In both cases, the this light served its purpose very well.

Overall, this light's power and portability makes this a must buy for the diligent and avid student.

Does All Natural Bugspray work?

Review of Skeeter Retreater
When I first spelled the bugspray, I was surprised by the nice and blissful smell of lavender. The liquid itself seems to have more of an oil consistency than other bugsprays. Nevertheless the smell compensated for it.

I went outside and it did deter some bugs, but there were still quite a few bugs that kept on following me.

After 6 hours, I felt my hand, and it felt a little bit smoother. Also, the pungent smell didn't go away!

Overall, I would rate this 5/5 for the quality and smell of this bugspray! I think this is really innovative and is pointing the bugspray industry into the right direction.

Is WPA2 Really Secure? (Part 1)

An Investigation into WPA2 and Wireless Network Vulnerabilities (Part 1)
A screen shot of Kali Linux, an operating system often used by penetration testers and hackers.

After realizing my own WPA2 home network was compromised recently, I wondered how easy it was to break into a WPA2 network. I had heard about brute forcing methods but nothing fast and efficient enough to efficiently crack a network.

Let me take a step back. Before there was WPA2, there was WEP. WEP stands for "Wired Equivalent Privacy". WEP, like WPA2, was invented to protect WIFI networks so that it would be as secure as ethernet connections networks. Before WEP (now we are going way back), network sniffer programs could tap into WI-Fi networks with no barriers.

The basic premise of WEP was simple: create a key made up of hexadecimal values. For one to access a WEP network, they would have to have the same WEP key as the router's key. In addition, there were two different versions of WEP: 64 bit (10 digits) and 128 bit (26 digits).

Ok, so why were WEP networks so vulnerable? There were many flaws such as how it's set up. One quick example is that WEP uses RC4 encryption algorithm aka stream cipher. Stream ciphers are vulnerable because an intruder can flip a bit in the cipher text and the corresponding bit will be revealed. I won't delve too deeply in the flaws of WEP, but this research paper by University of California Berkeley explains it well: http://www.isaac.cs.berkeley.edu/isaac/wep-faq.html

Next time, I will talk about the exciting new research over the past 2 years which reveal the unfortunate vulnerabilities of WPA2. (But don't worry. If you have a long and complex password, you will most likely not be hacked!)

Speaker, Clock, and Light All in One?!

Review of Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker Mini Portable HIFI Stereo with Led Light Lamp and Alarm Clock by Alisen

I was super excited to test this speaker/clock out.

Firstly, I tested out the sound. Surprisingly, the sound is amazing! It's much better than my $99 other bluetooth speaker. You can definetly hear the quality of the bass and different sound differentiations.

Next, I tested the bluetooth and it easily connected with my phone, no problem.

Also, the light is easily adjustable and controllable. With just a tap at the top, I'm able to change the brightness of the lamp.

Last and foremost, the clock itself is great. It's easy to change the time!

Overall, I rate this 5/5 for the amazing quality for such a low price!

Review of Hematiter GR-8 Bluetooth Headphones With Mic - Blu
These headphones are awesome! It packs amazing features such as robust sound, echo prevention, bluetooth connection, and waterproof capabilities.

Moreover, the headphones were easy to connect with my phone (One plus One) and there were 3 simple buttons (raise volume, decrease volume, pause buttons) on the headphones which augmented the user control experience!

Also, they threw in a car charger and a runner's phone patch!

Overall, I would rate this 5/5 for it's superb qualities!

$15 Ear Muffs...

Review of Sumsonic Safety Ear Muffs Hearing Protection
When I first opened the package, there was a horrendous "sharpie" smell coming from the ear muffs. This disgusting smell also attests to the terrible and cheap quality of these ear muffs.

Save yourself some time and don't buy this!

Overall: 2/5 for the terrible quality and the lack of blocking little sound.

$33 Blood Pressure Monitor!!

Review of Easy@Home Digital Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor

Let's cut to the chase here. In the package, there were 4 included AA batteries, the monitor itself, and the large cuff.

It took me less than 3 minutes to put it all together. If you have a little trouble, consult the included instructions or check out my video above!

In turns of the accuracy of the blood pressure monitor, it surprisingly reported the same numbers as my other $90 blood pressure monitor.

Overall, I'm impressed by this monitor's supreme quality, simple design, and ease of use! I would rate this 5/5 stars!

The BEST Stapler?

Review of the Stapler 3-in-1 Set by Office Elite

I've never gotten an "Elite" or powerful stapler before. I've always settled with simple and normal staplers that only could staple at most 12 pages.

When I first opened the box, there were three boxes containing a staple remover, staples, and the stapler itself.

The stapler was very easy to open up. It took only a simple press on the button on the far end of the stapler.

After, I filled up the stapler, I tested it out by stapling 10 pages. It took little to no effort to press down the staple and took less than 2 seconds for it to staple!

Overall, I would rate this a 5/5 due to the quickness and power of this stapler!

Are Standing Desks WORTH it?

Thundesk Height Adjustable Standing Desk with LapDesk Review

Full Review

I was super excited to review this standing desk. I have always programmed sitting down the past few years. Everytime I code for a long time, my back and neck hurts.

So, that's why I wanted to try out this Standing Desk. The packaging was protected very well. There was a lot of ceramwrap and multiple enclosing boxes. Nevertheless, when I first saw the wood pieces, the wood looked like it was cheap lumber.

I wish there was some polish on it to expose a deeper color. It looked just kinda a craft piece. So, aesthetically speaking, I thought this didn't look good!

On the other hand, the construction of the stand was fairly straightforward. After finally using all the pieces, the stand stood strongly together.

Also the whole laptop stand was that you could change the height and other pieces. Also, it could be taken apart and stored easily.

Overall, I would rate this 4/5 stars due to the lack of aesthetic/quality but solid build. Nevertheless, I would not recommend anyone to spend a whopping $150 for this laptop stand.

Meago QC2.0 Rapid USB Car Charger Adapter Review

Meago QC2.0 Rapid USB Car Charger Adapter Review

Today, I tested the Meago QC2.0 Rapid USB Car Charger Adapter Review, with my One Plus One which has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Processor.

When I opened the box, I was surprised at how compact and portable the charger was: the 2 usb slots measures around 3-4 cm in length while the car charger takes around 4-5 cm in length.

Before I talk about how fast this charger charged my One Plus One, let me explain what Qualcomm Quick Charge is. According to , Qualcomm Quick Charge "deliver lightning-fast charging in devices featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon' processors".

With my old car charger, my One Plus One could barely increase in charge by 1%. In fact, it took a hour for my old charger to do that. With the Meago QC2.0 Rapid USB Car Charger Adapter Review, it charged approximately 1% per 20 seconds. Very Fast!

So, overall, the portability, remarkable speed of charging, and quality of material sets this USB car charger above all the others! 5/5 stars
